History of Qingshuiyan Scenic Spot

Main Attractions of Qingshuiyan Scenic Spot

Rock mountain, the red brick walls of temples, grayish-green tile dangerous buildings re-Court, hidden in the pine green bamboo, Yan Lan-shrouded peaks, elegant and spectacular, such as Penglai fairyland . Temples are built on the hills, backed by lion-shaped dragon veins, facing deep gullies, three peaks of writing standing in the distance as if they are being thrust into the sky., surrounded by Penglai peaks. Upon climbing the mountain, visitors will find the Banling Pavilion(半陵亭) and Hujie Palace(虎街宫), as well as many stone carvings in various shapes.

Qingshuiyan Temple(清水岩寺)

Qingshuiyan temple  is a very large Buddhist temple, which is located on Mount Penglai(蓬莱山) in northwest Anxi County. It was built during the Northern Song dynasty (960-1127) to honor the Chan Buddhist monk Qingshui(清水师).The temple was constructed based on the topographical feature of Penglai Mountain, that facing a yawning ravine.The wall of the temple was built with red bricks and blue tiles, which appears quite pleasing under the set of lush pine trees and emerald-green bamboos.

The first floor is Hao Tiankou(好天口), and the second Zushi Hall(祖师殿). The third floor is Hall of Sakyamuni(释迦牟尼殿), along with Tanyue Hall(t檀岳殿), Kwan-yin Hall(观音殿) and Fangming Hall(方明殿) lying in its two sides. There are the Anxi Confucius Temple and the Fengshan (“Phoenix Mountain”) Scenic Tourism Area.It is a fantastic tourist resort for both admiring scenic spots and appreciating the Buddhist culture.

Qingshui Rock(清水岩)

Qingshui Rock was built in the Northern Song Dynasty and was rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty. In the Northern Song Dynasty, Master Puzu, one of famous buddhist monks practiced here. There are many unique landscapes near the rock, for example, the inscriptions and cliff stone carving from Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties.
