Overview
Litianmu Town (李天木镇) is located in Cang County (沧县), Cangzhou City (沧州市), Hebei Province (河北省). It is situated in the northeast of Cang County, bordering Tengzhuangzi Town (滕庄子镇) in Huanghua City (黄骅市) to the east, Fenghuadian Township (风化店乡) to the south and west, and Xueguantun Township (薛官屯乡) to the north. The town government is 16 kilometers away from the Cang County People’s Government, covering a total area of 100.8 square kilometers. As of 2021, the registered population of Litianmu Town was 42,000.
Historical Development
In 1950, the area of Litianmu Hui Ethnic Township (李天木回族乡) was part of Cang County’s seventh district (with the administrative center in Fenghuadian). In January 1958, the township was dissolved and merged into Litianmu Township. That same year, four townships, including Fenghuadian, Litianmu, and Wanghaisi, were combined to establish the Cang County Dongfeng Third People’s Commune (沧县东风第三人民公社), serving as the administrative region for Litianmu.
In 1961, Litianmu Commune was established separately, and in 1984, it was renamed Litianmu Hui Ethnic Township. In 2021, it was officially designated as Litianmu Town.

Geography
Litianmu Town is located in the northeast of Cang County. It borders Tengzhuangzi Town to the east, Fenghuadian Township to the south and west, and Xueguantun Township to the north. The town government is situated 16 kilometers from the Cang County People’s Government and has a total area of 100.8 square kilometers.
Natural Disasters
Litianmu Town experiences various natural disasters, including hail, drought, flooding, and windstorms. Hailstorms occur on average once every two years, with the most severe incident recorded on September 3, 1988. Windstorms can happen throughout the year, with the most damaging event occurring on July 15, 1990, affecting 15,000 acres of crops.

Demographics
As of the end of 2011, the total population of Litianmu Town was 38,822, with an urban population of 2,857, resulting in an urbanization rate of 7.4%. Among the total population, there were 20,224 males (52.1%) and 18,598 females (47.9%). The ethnic composition was predominantly Han (汉族), accounting for 91.2%, while Hui (回族) made up 8.8%. The birth rate was 13.6‰, the death rate was 5.2‰, and the natural growth rate was 8.4%.
