Jiedi Hui Ethnic Township in Cang County, Cangzhou
Overview
Jiedi Hui Ethnic Township (捷地回族乡) is located in the southern part of Cang County (沧县), Cangzhou City (沧州市), Hebei Province (河北省). It borders Wangjiapu Town (汪家铺镇) to the east, Zhangguantun Town (张官屯镇) to the south, and faces Nanchentun Township (南陈屯乡) across the Ancient Grand Canal to the west, with Xinhua District (新华区) of Cangzhou to the north. The township government is situated 5 kilometers from the Cang County People’s Government, covering a total area of 43 square kilometers. As of the end of 2018, the registered population was 31,302.
Historical Development
In 1950, Jiedi Hui Ethnic Township was part of Cang County’s fourth district (with its center in Jiedi). In 1955, Jiedi Township was established. In September 1958, Jiedi merged with Qili Diandian, Muguantun, and Zhangguantun to form the Cang County Dongfeng First Commune (沧县东风第一公社), which became the administrative region for Jiedi.
In 1961, Jiedi Commune was established separately, and in 1984, it was renamed Jiedi Hui Ethnic Township.

Geography
Jiedi Hui Ethnic Township is situated in the southern part of Cang County, bordered by Wangjiapu Town to the east, Zhangguantun Town to the south, and Nanchentun Township across the Ancient Grand Canal to the west, with Xinhua District to the north. The total area of the township is 43 square kilometers.
Population
As of the end of 2011, the total population of Jiedi Hui Ethnic Township was 28,956, with an urban population of 2,058, resulting in an urbanization rate of 7.1%. Among the total population, there were 14,699 males (50.8%) and 14,257 females (49.2%). The ethnic composition included a majority of Han (汉族) at 79%, followed by Hui (回族) at 17.8% and Manchu (满族) at 3.2%. The birth rate was 11.3‰, the death rate was 5.6‰, and the natural growth rate was 5.7%.
As of the end of 2018, the registered population was 31,302.
