Location and Administrative Division
Huji Hui Ethnic Township (胡集回族乡, Huji Huizu Minzu Xiang) is located in the northern part of Minquan County (民权县), Shangqiu City (商丘市), Henan Province (河南省), China. The township is bordered to the east by Wangqiao Township (王桥乡), to the south by the Oasis Sub-district (绿洲街道), and to the west and north by Chengzhuang Town (程庄镇). It covers an area of 23.22 square kilometers.
Historical Background
- 1783 (Qianlong Era of Qing Dynasty): Huji was part of Suizhou (睢州).
- 1928 (Republic of China): Huji was incorporated into Minquan County and was part of Wangqiao District (王桥区).
- 1953: Huji Hui Autonomous Township (胡集回族自治乡) was established.
- 1958: Huji was merged into Wangqiao Commune (王桥公社).
- 1965: Huji was integrated into Chengzhuang Commune (程庄公社).
- 1983: The commune system was abolished and Huji Hui Ethnic Township was reestablished.
- September 1984: Huji Hui Ethnic Township (胡集回族乡) was formally established.
