Overview
Guoziwa Hui Township is located in Hejian City (河间市), Cangzhou City (沧州市), Hebei Province (河北省). Situated in the southwest of Hejian, it borders the city center to the east, Longhuadian Township (龙华店乡) to the south, Subin County’s Hebei Township (肃宁县河北乡) to the west, and Xingcun Town (兴村镇) to the north. The township government is approximately 3.5 kilometers from the Hejian City government, with a total area of 27.11 square kilometers.
Historical Background
- In 1947, Guoziwa was part of the seventh district of Subin County.
- In December 1957, Guoziwa District was renamed Guoziwa Township.
- In 1958, it was established as Xianfeng Commune.
- In 1984, it was designated as Guoziwa Hui Township.

Guoziwa Hui Township is in the southwest of Hejian City. It is bordered by the city center to the east, Longhuadian Township to the south, Hebei Township in Subin County to the west, and Xingcun Town to the north. The township’s total area is 27.11 square kilometers.

The area is predominantly flat, with higher terrain in the southwest and lower in the northeast.

Guoziwa Hui Township experiences a continental monsoon climate, characterized by distinct seasons. The average annual temperature is 12.4°C, with an average annual precipitation of 561 mm and an average of 2,697 hours of sunshine per year. The frost-free period averages 187 days.
Hydrology
The township is part of the ancient Yang River’s west branch. The river enters the area southwest of Nansanli Village and flows from west to east, covering a length of 5 kilometers within the township.

As of the end of 2011, Guoziwa Hui Township had a total population of 22,006, with males accounting for 50.55% (11,122) and females 49.45% (10,884). The population is predominantly Han Chinese, comprising 70.7% (15,558), while Hui people make up 29.3% (6,448). The birth rate is 16.74%, the death rate is 5.9%, and the natural population growth rate is 10.84%. As of 2017, the resident population was 24,109, and by the end of 2018, the registered population reached 24,156.
