Shanghai Grace Church is a Protestant church holding services in both English and Chinese. This red brick church and bell tower is part of a structure originally built by American missionaries in 1910.

Why is Grace Church So Special

Grace Church, located at No. 375, Shaanxi North Road, Jing’an District, Shanghai, is a well-known Protestant church in Shanghai, China. The lobby is composed of a three story building and a two story building. In the southeast corner, there is a high bell tower and a chapel. Up to now, the number of registered believers has reached 9535, and it can hold more than 2000 people when worshipping. It is one of the largest Christian churches in Shanghai. In 1994, Grace Church was selected as the second batch of excellent historical buildings in Shanghai.

Brief Introduction of Grace Church

Grace Christian Church in Shanghai. Before the cultural revolution, it was a Baptist church. There are no more denominations in the Protestant church. W hen pastors were in the work camps during the cultural revolution they decided that they needed to work together to re-establish the church. This particular church has ten thousand members and another branch. They rely heavily on 500 volunteers to do the work of the congregation. They have a branch church as well. There are three services on the weekend…all the same so that people will only come to church once.
