Yantai Climate

Yantai is situated in middle latitude and central part of Shandong Peninsula. Owing to its location, Yantai belongs to continental warm temperate zone monsoon climate, with four distinct seasons. Generally, the temperature is mild and the rain is more abundant.

Its average annual rainfall is 627.6 mm and annual rainfall vary from one to another obviously. The average annual sunshine time of the city is 2656.2 hours. As for its four seasons, spring here begins on April 13th and ends on June 24th, lasting 72 days. Summer starts on June 25th and ends on September 3rd, lasting 70 days. Autumn begins on September 4th and stops on November 2nd, lasting 59 days. Winter, which starts on November 3rd and stops on April 12th, lasting 160 days, is the longest season of the year.

Due to the regulation of the ocean, compared with the same latitude area of the province, Yantai climate has the characteristics of moderate temperature, moist air and more rainfall.
