Nanchang Festivals and Events

All of these festivals are origniated from Nanchang, and they are related to Nanchang’s culture.

Crab Fest

Time: October
Crab Fest is held in Jinxian County which is close to Poyang Lake. During crab fest, visitors from all over the world can taste delicious crabs. Also, there are bonfire parties for people to enjoy themselves. In addition, many businessmen around the country come here to purchase crabs. They are also happy to visit breeding base of crabs.

Chinese Red Song Gala

Time: May to October
To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the victory of the War of Resistance against Japan, Jiangsu Satellite TV held a red song gala in 2016.
All contestants who are over18 years old must sing revolutionary songs or red songs that support and show respect for the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. Since then, holding Chinese Red Song Gala has become a convention.

Shengjin Pagoda Temple Festival

Time: From September to October
It is an ancient traditional religious folklore which has developed for a long time. And activities for celebrating the festival has changed a lot. Nowadays, Shengjin Pagoda Temple Festival becomes a place where people enjoy eating and shopping. In addition, there are colorful artistic performances and folk exhibitions.

Tianxiang Park Tourism and Culture Festival

Time: From September to October
Tianxiang Park, as the largest place of migratory bird in Nanchang, is famous for bird’s paradise. In order to develop Nanchang’s economy, the government started to hold activities at Tianxiang Park, and then it has become a famous festival.
