Daocheng County Entertainment and Nightlife
In 2003, Chinese national geography magazine published an article introducing Yading in Daocheng, and called it “the last piece of pure land in the world”. Horse-riding
You can choose to ride horses in Yading scenic spot. Yading’s caravan management is divided into “three stops”, namely, Longtongba, Chonggu Temple and Luorong Cattle Farm. Tourists can buy tickets and rent horses at these three stops.
Tips
- Find a young groom. They are good at Chinese and easy to communicate.
- One horse for each person and one groom for each horse (some places on the road are dangerous), and the horse must carry people and bags.
- When renting horses, the detailed price shall be specified.
- Try to have a good relationship with the groom. A good groom can light the fire, cook buttered tea and share food for you. Most Tibetans are very friendly.
Hot-spring Bath
Rubuchaka Hot Spring, located at the north foot of Gongba mountain, 3km southeast of the county, is a famous high-temperature steam spring in Garze Prefecture. It means “spring of friends” in Kangba culture. The water temperature at the spring outlet is generally 68 ℃, and the hot spring water is clear and can be directly drunk, which has the effects of strengthening body building, prolonging life, relaxing muscles and tendons, promoting blood circulation, regulating endocrine function, and treating skin diseases.
The hot spring facilities are very simple. There are a row of open-air plank houses. The roof of each small room is covered with a plank to keep out the wind and rain, but you can look up at the blue sky and snow mountain. The whole process is full of natural wild interest. Each room is about 4 square meters. On the ground, a small square pool is built with tiles, which can accommodate two people to sit on the steps side by side. The warm water is just below the neck. You don’t need to wear a swimsuit to enjoy hot spring here, because it is an independent space once you close the door.
Coffee Shops
There are not many cafes in Daocheng, and coffee shops do not sell only coffee. You can also drink pure butter tea, barley wine, Tibetan snacks and simple western food. It is very pleasant to enjoy the exotic flavor and feel the charm of Daocheng.
