Why is Daiwangcheng Site so Special?
In 2001, the Daiwangcheng Site(代王城遗址)was announced by the State Council as the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
Daiwangcheng Site is situated around the Daiwang Town Government (10 kilometers) east of Yuxian City, Hebei Province. According to the field investigation and the analysis of the relics unearthed in Daiwangcheng, the Daiwangcheng Site is the capital city of the Spring and Autumn Period to the Han Dynasty.

Daiwangcheng Site is located in Daiwang Town, Yu County, Hebei Province. Built in the Zhou Dynasty (about 11th century B.C. to 256 B.C.), the city has a wall site about 2 meters high, 3 meters wide and 9.7 kilometers long. It is now a key cultural relic protection unit in China. In 2001, the Daiwangcheng Site was announced by the State Council as the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units. The plane shape of the imperial city site in the Han Dynasty is very rare, which provides important material for the study of the urban construction history of the Han Dynasty and China. The Range of Daiwangcheng Site
Daiwangcheng Site belongs to the national key cultural relics protection unit, the city wall was built in Zhou Dynasty, 3400 meters wide in East and west, 2200 meters long in North and south, 9265 meters in circumference. The city wall is 3-12 meters high, with 11 horse faces on the South wall, and 9 gate sites are still indistinguishable.

The southeastern part of the city is a palace area with a huge area. Han Dynasty relics were found. There are many Han Dynasty tombs outside the city, 63 of which are the Royal noble tombs at that time.
Two Rivers
There are Jinbo river(金波泉) and Mihe(密河) river in the city. The both flow out of the city to north and finally flow into Huliuhe River(壶流河). The west part of the city is saline-alkali beach, and the east part is cultivated land of the city wall.

Tanghai wetland is an important post station for Oriental storks to migrate to the south. Every year, they stay in the wetland for more than one month to supplement nutrition, then cross the Bohai Sea(渤海) and finally reach Poyang Lake.
