Location and Administration
Dazhu Village Hui Ethnic Township is located in Cang County (沧县), Cangzhou City (沧州市), Hebei Province (河北省). It is situated in the western part of Cang County, bordered to the east by Zhifangtou Township (纸房头乡), to the south by Huangdipu Township (黄递铺乡), to the west by Cuierzhuang Town (崔尔庄镇), and to the north by Dulin Township (杜林乡). The township government is approximately 18 kilometers from the Cang County People’s Government and covers a total area of 55 square kilometers.
Historical Background
- Late 1949: The area of Dazhu Village was part of Qingcang County.
- 1950: It was incorporated into Cang County’s third district (with the administration based in Qianhaizhuang).
- 1955: Dazhu Village Township was established.
- Autumn 1958: Dazhu Village merged with Huangdipu and two other townships to form the Fifth Commune of Cang County, managed by Dazhu Village.
- 1961: Dazhu Village Commune was established.
- 1984: Renamed Dazhu Village Township.
- 1985: Renamed Dazhu Village Hui Ethnic Township.
Administrative Structure
As of the end of 2011, Dazhu Village Hui Ethnic Township governed 26 administrative villages, including:
- Dazhu Village (大褚村)
- Cecheng Village (策城村)
- Xihe Head Village (西河头村)
- Donghe Head Village (东河头村)
- Shitun Village (施屯村), which includes Xiaowangzhuang
- And others, totaling 26 villages.
By June 2020, the same administrative structure was maintained, with the township government based in Niuwa East Village (牛洼东村).
