China in Guyanese Eyes” Original Work Contest
As early as 1853, the first batch of Chinese came to Guyana, where they survived and thrived and became one of the six major ethnic groups in Guyana. On June 27, 1972, Guyana took the lead in establishing diplomatic relations with China among English-speaking Caribbean countries. Since then, bilateral relations between China and Guyana have continued to develop steadily and healthily, and bilateral exchanges and cooperation have been deepened. In order to commemorate the 47th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Guyana and to welcome the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the Chinese Embassy in Guyana is to hold an original work contest on the theme of ” China in Guyanese Eyes ” as of today, to enhance mutual understanding and bonds between our two people. We welcome your active participation!
Ⅰ. Entries and Requirements
1. Original essays which are less than 5000 words, and can be matched with 1-3 pictures with text description.
2. Original video and multimedia works should be played for no more than 6 minutes, and micro-video works within 3 minutes are encouraged.
The entries should reflect the history and prospects of political, economic, social and cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and Guyana; daily communication stories between Guyanese and Chinese or Chinese enterprises in Guyana; stories of Guyanese working, studying and living in China; and views and suggestions of Guyanese on Chinese culture and image of China.

Ⅳ. Awards
After the collection of works, the Chinese Embassy will conduct a selection process and give awards to the winners.
The results of the contest will be announced on the official website of the Embassy in early August, followed by an award ceremony.
