Buyi Ethnic Group Celebrate 2019 ‘San Yue San’ Festival in Guizhou
People of the Buyi ethnic group in southwest China’s Guizhou Province on Saturday celebrated the “San Yue San” Festival which falls on the third day of the third month in the Chinese Lunar Calendar.During the festival, Buyi people hold various activities, such as rice dyeing, cloth weaving, antiphonal singing, bamboo dancing, bonfire evening galas and folk performances. Their colorful folk culture attracts flocks of visitors each year. Buyi people in Guizhou Province accounts for more than 97 percent of the total population of Buyi people in China. Other ethnic groups such as Miao, Dong and Zhuang also celebrated “San Yue San” Festival on the same day.
