Mosques in Lhasa
Islam has been practiced in Tibet for more than 1,100 years. Lhasa has more than 2,000 Hui residents, most of whom believe in Islam. In addition, there are a few muslims of other ethnic groups or foreigners. No matter they sojourn in Lhasa or settle there, they are able to lead a normal religious life according to their own beliefs. There are four mosques in Lhasa, among which Hebalin mosque(河坝林清真寺) is the most famous one. It is located in Barkhor south street, southeast of Jokhang temple and was built in 1716. The other mosques in Lhasa are the Kajilinka mosque(卡基林卡清真寺), Raochuangxiang mosque(绕窗巷清真寺) and Duodi mosque(多底清真寺).
Our Muslim Tours will help travelers to get around the most well-known Muslim sites in Lhasa and share their knowledge of Islam, dinning features and other aspects of Muslim culture.
