Yantai, which is an important node city in Bohai Economic Circle, the backbone city of Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Zone, one of the first 14 coastal open cities, a China seaside city, the only international grape wine in Asia, a national strategic key construction port city under the Belt and Road Initiative, a national historical and cultural city, a national civilized city, with Wehai, is China’s famous “Snow Nest”. On December 7th, 2016, it was listed as the third batch of the county’s new integrated pilot area of urbanization. In 2017, it ranked 28th during China’s top hundred cities. Being blessed with abundant tourist resources, favorable location and vigorous development vitality, Yantai is a pleasant tourist destination.

  • Favorable Location: Situated in the northeast of Shandong Peninsula, Yantai borders Weihai in the east, Weifang and Qingdao in the west, the Yellow Sea in the south and the Bohai Sea in the north. Bordering to two important seas makes it be one of the earliest coastal open port cities in China, which promotes its development a lot. Its location that faces Japan and Korea across the sea helps the city’s tourism and cooperation with these two countries.
