144 Hours China Visa Free

Since 2016, China has implemented the 144-Hour Transit Visa Exemption policy, which allows international travelers to stay in specific regions of China for up to 144 hours (6 days) without a visa. This policy was initially introduced in the Yangtze River Delta (including Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang provinces) to facilitate easier transit for travelers. Since then, it has been expanded to other major cities, including:Beijing, Tianjin, Chengdu, Xiamen,Kunming, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Chaoshan.

Under this policy, visitors from 53 designated countries can enter China without a visa if they meet the following requirements:

  • Hold valid travel documents (e.g., passport).
  • Have a connecting flight ticket to a third country/region.
  • Enter through designated ports and stay in specific areas within China.

This policy has helped boost tourism and business activities by making it more convenient for international travelers who are passing through China.
