Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics
The 2022 Paralympic Winter Games is the 13th Paralympic Winter Games and will be held from March 4, 2022 to March 13, 2022 in Beijing, China and Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province. This is the first Paralympic Winter Games to be held in China. 2022 winter paralympic games was announced to be hosted by Beijing at the 128th IOC plenary meeting on July 31, 2015 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Therefore, Beijing will become the first city in the world to hold both the Summer Paralympic Games and the Winter Paralympic Games.
Bidding of Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics
In January 2015, the Beijing Winter Olympics Committee submitted its Bid Report to the International Olympic Committee. In June 2015, after inspecting the candidate cities, the IOC Evaluation Commission released the Evaluation Report, which fully affirmed the conditions and ability of Beijing and Zhangjiakou to organize the Winter Olympics. On August 4, 2018, the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics Action Plan for Overseas Chinese was released in Beijing. On August 8, 2018, the launching ceremony for the global solicitation of mascots for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympics was held in Beijing. On September 17, 2019, the mascot of Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic Games, “Shuey Rhon Rhon”, was officially released.
Emblem of Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics
On the evening of December 15, 2017, the emblem of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics “Winter Dream” and the emblem of the 2022 Winter Paralympics “Leap” unveiled at the Water Cube of the Beijing National Swimming Center. It is reported that the emblem of the 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games and Paralympic Winter Games was jointly collected and released, designed by the same designer, achieving a high degree of unity in visual language. The emblem of the 2022 Beijing winter paralympic games “leap” cleverly conjures the Chinese character “飞” into the image of an athlete who glides forward to victory, symbolizing and inspiring the athletes to take strong will as their spiritual wings and release their dreams of youth in the winter Olympics. Mascot of Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics
On September 17, 2019, the mascot of Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic Games, “Shuey Rhon Rhon”, was officially released. Lantern represents harvest, happiness, warmth and light. The top of the Ruyi shape symbolizes good luck and happiness. The continuous pattern of doves of peace and the Temple of Heaven symbolizes peace and friendship and highlights the characteristics of the host city. Lanterns, with distinctive Chinese cultural characteristics and a long history of more than 2,000 years, are recognized as “Chinese symbols” in the world. It is a perfect combination of the festive atmosphere and the good meaning of “auspicious snow and abundant years”. It expresses the idea of jointly participating, working hard and enjoying the Olympics.

The lantern, with “Chinese red” as its main color, plays up the festive atmosphere of the 2022 Chinese Spring Festival. Its body shines, symbolizing lighting dreams and warming the world. It represents love, courage and strength. It embodies the fighting spirit of the Paralympic Winter Games and the idea of inspiring the world.

7 winter paralympics sports will be held in 2022 Paralympic Winter Games, with a total of 81 medals. Bobsleigh will be added to the Winter Paralympics.
