Day 1 Arrive in Urumqi

Today your flight will touch down in Urumqi. We will meet you at the airport with a welcome board and then transfer you to the hotel and check in. The rest of the day is for you to explore surrounding areas and have a good rest.

Day 2 Urumqi – Turpan
Sightseeing and Activities:the oldest Uighur village Tuyoq Village, the Jiaohe Ruins

After breakfast, we’ll drive for about 3 hours to Turpan to visit a must – see attraction, Tuyoq Village(吐峪沟村), which is located right in the center of the Flaming Mountain Canyon. It used to be a holy site for both Buddhism and Islam. The village is composed of four parts: the canyon scenery, the Maza tombs, and the old buildings of the ancient village. Then we’ll continue our journey to the Jiaohe Ruins. With a history of 2,300 years, this ancient city is situated on a loess plateau between two rivers, atop a cliff over 30 meters high.

Day 3 Turpan – Urumqi
Sightseeing and Activities: Visit the Karez Well(坎儿井), and the Sugong Minaret(苏公塔)

Morning depart from the hotel, we will head to the Karez Well, which is special kind of irrigation system, here you can not only visit this ancient irrigation system, but also get rid of the heat of summer. Then explore the Sugong Minaret, the largest Islamic minaret in China built in 1778. In the afternoon, we will drive all back to Urumqi to take a rest.

Day 4 Urumqi – Fuhai
Sightseeing and Activities: Visit Heavenly Lake(天山天池), Ulungur Lake(乌伦古湖)

Today, we’ll head to the picturesque Heavenly Lake, surrounded by snow – capped mountains, blooming wildflowers, and evergreen pine trees. You can take a leisurely walk along the lake in the fresh air or take the cable car to Maya Mountain to enjoy the magnificent mountain views. Then we’ll continue our journey to Fuhai. After about 5 hours of driving, we’ll arrive at Ulungur Lake. If the weather is clear, you’ll be able to enjoy a stunning sunset. Walk barefoot on the soft beach and watch the ducks playing hide – and – seek in the reeds and the seagulls gliding freely in the sky. After the visit, we’ll drive to Fuhai County for an overnight stay and have a good rest.

Day 5 Fuhai – Hemu
Sightseeing and Activities:Visit the most beautiful Tuwa village, Hemu(禾木村)

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel in the morning. Then we’ll travel to Hemu, the most beautiful Tuwa village. With its tranquil atmosphere, herds of cattle and sheep, and warm and hospitable locals, it’s truly a beautiful and mysterious place. If you want to learn more about the life of the Tuwa people, they’ll be more than happy to welcome you into their homes.
Note: When we arrive in Hemu, we’ll need to transfer to a shuttle bus to enter the village. Please leave your luggage on the coach and prepare a toiletries bag, taking only your essentials with you.

Day 6 Hemu – Kanas
Sightseeing and Activities:Visit Kanas Nature Reserve(喀纳斯自然保护区), the Fish Pavilion(观鱼台)

Your guide and driver will pick you up in the morning, and then we’ll drive along the mountain road to Kanas Nature Reserve. This is China’s only ecological site with a European – style landscape and has been awarded the title of the “Pure Land of the World” for its unspoiled natural scenery. On the way, we’ll visit Kanas Lake(喀纳斯湖). Upon arrival, transfer to a shuttle bus to enter the reserve and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Head to the Fish Pavilion to overlook Kanas Lake. In the late afternoon, return to the Jiadengyu area and check into the hotel.

Day 7 Kanas – Urho
Sightseeing and Activities: Visit the Five – colored Beach(五彩滩), Urho Ghost City(乌尔禾魔鬼城)

Today, we’ll head to Urho. There, you can enjoy the dreamlike scenery of the Five – colored Beach. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a fairy tale world. The unique lava landscape is composed of purplish red, vandyke red, yellow, and light green mudstone, sandstone, and gravel. It’s a masterpiece of nature and a wonder of Burqin. In the evening, you can admire the beautiful sunset at Urho Ghost City, also known as “Wuerhe Wind City”. It’s a unique wind – eroded geological area, often referred to as the “wind city” because of the frequent howling winds. After the visit, we’ll stay overnight in Urho.

Day 8 Urumqi-Kunming
Sightseeing and Activities: Visit the Green Lake(翠湖), the Flowers and Birds Market(花鸟市场), Nancheng Mosque(南城清真寺)

After breakfast in the morning, it’s time to say goodbye to Xinjiang. We’ll drive back to Urumqi Airport and catch a flight to Kunming. Upon arrival at Kunming Airport/Railway Station, your local guide and driver will meet you in the arrival hall and take you to your hotel. Start your colorful journey in Yunnan from the provincial capital city, Kunming. Take a stroll around the Green Lake and the Flowers and Birds Market, and visit Nancheng Mosque in the city center.
Day 9 Kunming-Stone Forest-Dali
Sightseeing and Activities:Visit the renowned Stone Forest(石林), Dali Ancient Town(大理古城)

After breakfast, drive 86 kilometers to the famous Stone Forest, known as the “First Wonder of the World”. You’ll be amazed by the masterpieces of nature and fascinated by the intricate stone formations. The Stone Forest is located in Shilin Yi Autonomous County, about 120 kilometers from Kunming, and it takes about 3 hours to drive there. It covers an area of 400 square kilometers and includes both large and small stone forests, as well as many other scenic spots. In the afternoon, take a high – speed train from Shilin to Dali. Your local guide will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel in Dali Ancient Town. Dali is a famous historical and cultural ancient town in China, renowned for its historical significance and Bai ethnic culture.

Day 10 Dali-Weishan-Dali
Sightseeing and Activities: Visit Donglianhua Village(东莲花村), Weishan Old Town(巍山古城), the Big and Small Temples(大小寺)

After breakfast, drive about one hour to Weishan Yi and Hui Autonomous County. Visit East Lotus Village(Donglianhua Village) before arrival in Weishan Old Town. Donglianhua Village has rich minorities and strong Muslim customs. The most outstanding representative is the Donglianhua Mosque in the village. Donglianhua Mosque is a major attraction in Donglianhua Village. This large-scaled mosque built in a unique folk style is a great destination for the admirer of Muslim architecture and culture. Drive to visit Weibaoshan Mountain, which is one of the 14 China’s most famous Daoist holy mountains.
Go back to Weishan Old Town, visit Big and Small Temples on the way. You will explore Weishan Ancient Town in the afternoon. Weishan Ancient Town was built more than 600 years. There are a lot of ancient buildings in it. The magnificent Building Gongchen is the symbol of the ancient town.
After that, drive back to Dali.
Day 11 Dali-Lijiang
Sightseeing and Activities: Visit Xizhou Old Town(喜洲古镇), Xizhou Morning Market(喜洲早市), Zhoucheng Village(周城村), Bai Ethnic Tie – dying Cloth Workshop(白族扎染坊), Lijiang Old Town(丽江古城)

In the morning, head to Xizhou Town to fully appreciate the traditional Bai – style architectural courtyards, taste their fragrant Three – Course Tea, and explore their unique culture. This small village has been called the “Living Art Museum” because of its remarkable concentration of nationally protected heritage sites, mostly including architecture that spans from the Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644) to the founding of New China in 1949, as well as centuries – old trees, parks, and wildlife preserves. Stroll through the morning market and the main pedestrian street, and you’ll find a vibrant town that blends traditional Bai culture with modern influences from eastern China and abroad. It’s this balance of development and forward – thinking that makes Xizhou so special. After visiting Xizhou, go to Zhoucheng Village, which is the largest Bai ethnic village in China, and visit the Bai Ethnic Tie – dying Cloth Workshop. Here, you can buy some special souvenirs with Bai ethnic characteristics. The tie – dyeing products in Zhoucheng Village are very popular both at home and abroad. Be sure to stop by and witness the process of this historical craftsmanship for yourself. You might even go home with some beautiful and affordable handcrafted cloths. Transfer to Lijiang in the afternoon. Stroll around Lijiang Old Town, a well – preserved old town of ethnic minorities with a splendid culture. It’s the central town of the Naxi Ethnic Minority in Lijiang, Yunnan Province. Located on a plateau 2,400 meters above sea level, surrounded by the tree – covered Lion Mountain(狮子山)in the west, the Elephant and Golden Row Mountains(象山和金虹山)in the north, vast fertile fields in the southeast, and crystal – clear water flowing through it, the old town looks like a large jade inkstone, so it’s also known as the “Town of Big Ink Slab” (Dayanzhen).

Day 12 Lijiang
Sightseeing and Activities: Visit Ganhaizi(甘海子), Spruce Meadow(云杉坪), Baishui River(白水河), Jade Dragon Snow Mountain(玉龙雪山), the Impression Lijiang Show(《印象・丽江》演出), Baisha Old Town(白沙古镇), Baisha Murals(白沙壁画)

Enjoy the sunrise of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Lijiang Ancient Town in the morning, drive about 30 km to Ganhaizi Meadow(3100 meters), you will take the sightseeing bus for a short visit through the Baishuihe River in Blue Moon Valley, then take the chairlift up to visit Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The cable-way will be arranged according to the condition of the mountain. You will hike around 1 hour in the original forest in Spruce Meadow(3200 meters).
After lunch, enjoy Impression Lijiang Show which is A Spectacular Show with Jade Dragon Snow Mountain as the Backdrop, directed by the famous director Zhang Yimou. Impression Lijiang is a magnificent outdoor singing and dancing performance demonstrating the tradition and lifestyle of the local ethnic people. It is another creation of famous Chinese director Zhang Yimou. The show is innovatively staged in the morning and afternoon, at 3100 meters above sea level with Jade Snow Mountain as the breathtaking backdrop.
Stroll through Baisha Old Town, which is an enchanting traditional Naxi style old town. Visit the Baisha Mural about 600 years old, which is a part of the World Cultural Heritage by the UNESCO 1997.
Transfer back to hotel in the late afternoon.
Day 13 Lijiang-Tiger Leaping Gorge-Shangri-la
Sightseeing and Activities: the First Bend of Yangtze River(长江第一湾), Iron Chain Bridge(铁链桥), Red Army’s Long March Memorial Monument(红军长征纪念碑), Tiger Leaping Gorge(虎跳峡)

From Lijiang, you’ll drive about 60KM to the First Bend of the Yangtze River(长江第一湾) with imposing gorge scenery, visit the Iron Chain Bridge(铁链桥) ,the Red Army’s Long March Memorial Monument(红军长征纪念碑) in the Shigu Old Town. The town of Stone Drum got its name from a large, cylindrical, marble tablet shaped like a drum. The scenery is magnificent as the road running through the Lijiang valley which is filled with wheat fields and drying haystacks.
Visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge(虎跳峡), the deepest gorge in the world. With 34 rapids of the Yangtze River, it is called the Jinsha in this area because you can find gold in the river.
In the afternoon, you’ll head to Shangri-La, formerly known as Zhongdian. It’s a well – known paradise destination for every tourist. When you arrive in Shangri-La, you’ll enter the Tibetan cultural area. There, you’ll see a landscape of barley fields and yaks scattered in the valleys. Then, check in at your hotel.
Day 14 Shangri-la
Sightseeing and Activities:Pudacuo National Park(普达措国家公园),Songzanlin Monastery(松赞林寺), Tibetan family Visit, Dukezong Old Town(独克宗古镇), the largest Prayer Wheel(世界上最大的转经轮)

In the morning, move to visit the tranquil Shudu Lake in Pudacuo National Park(普达措国家公园). Pudacuo National Park is located in one of the most biologically-diverse regions of the world. While the region comprises only 0.7 percent of China’s land area, it contains more than 20 percent of the country’s plant species, about one-third of its mammal and bird species and almost 100 endangered species.
At noon, have a visit of the local Tibetan family.
And afterwards you’ll visit the Ganden Sumtseling Monastery, the largest Tibetan monastery in Yunnan. Songzanlin Monastery has another alias – ‘the little Potala Palace ‘, so named because the whole monastery is in the traditional style with mysterious atmosphere. Stroll around Dukezong Ancient Town, an important town of the Ancient Tea-horse Trade Caravan from Yunnan to Tibet and India. Walk up to the top of Guishan Hill or Tortoise Hill, you will see the largest Prayer Wheel of the world and have a panoramic view of shangrila county and Dukezong Ancient Town.
Day 15 Departure from Shangri-la

Or we take the 6 hours speed train from Shangri La to Kunming to catch the flight back home.
